Circumstances

While on foot patrol, Constable Reynolds became involved in an altercation with a citizen on the street. He was struck and knocked to the ground striking his head on a curb. Constable Reynolds was removed, unconscious, to the hospital where he later died.


Postscript

The suspect was arrested, charged and convicted of manslaughter, and sentenced to six years in the penitentiary. After being paroled the suspect was killed in Western Canada in 1955.
